Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100
There are days when we enter His courts in the form of a church building. There are days when we enter His courts in the comfort of our homes. There are days when we find ourselves in His courts in the midst of the craziness of life. But no matter when we enter His courts, we bring praise to His name!
There was something so special yesterday in our time together simply “worshiping the Lord with gladness!” I really wasn’t sure how things would work out yesterday without a worship team on stage but I felt like we entered His courts with praise nevertheless… and maybe even more so in some ways. If nothing else, yesterday’s service reminded us that we can worship God whenever and wherever we may be.
In addition to worshiping with our words and voices, we also worship with our actions. This Wednesday is our second to last Lenten meal and activity and we are planning to once again work on the quilts for the project in May. Last time we did this, I was amazed at how passionately our church family dove into the work. I know this week will be another great time of worship through work as we continue to quilt together and make cards for those God brings to our minds and hearts.
I pray you enjoy this beautiful weather this week and take the opportunity to praise Him as you spend time outdoors. When things turn to rain, as they inevitably do lately, continue to praise His name!
Let us worship Him without end because He loves us without end!
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Jan
